Flapper Replacement (for old type Jet Clone)

[Flapper - Function]

  • On conveying problems, if an abnormality is found upon checking the flapper position, or if the flapper arm is deformed, replacement may be required.
Tools Required

Philips and flat head screw drivers, 2mm Hex Wrench, 3mm Pin Punch, Electrical Drill,
3mm drill, Epoxy Adhesive, Iron Hammer, Plastic Hammer

[How to Replace]
1. Remove cover.
2. Remove limit switch, solenoids and surge killer.
3. Remove cam.
Use hex wrench to unscrew and pull out the set screw.

Remove the adhesive on inner hole with a knife or a drill before starting work.
(Note) Use sharp objects with caution.
4. Use a flathead screw driver to remove the c-clip.
5. Loosen the set screw on the flapper with a hex wrench.

Remove thread locking adhesive on hole with a knife or drill before starting work.
(Note) Use sharp objects with caution.

Remove the pin that is holding the damper. This will free the damper.

Use 3.0mm pin punch. Remove adhesive on pin hole with cutter or drill before starting work.
(Note) Use sharp objects with caution.
7. Remove the flapper and post by knocking it with a plastic hammer.
8. Remove bearing. This completes removal of all parts. Remove any adhesive remaining and clean jet clone.
9. Prepare new flapper set to start assembly from here.
10. Insert bearing. Match bearing position by surface of insertion and bearing.

[Point]
Tip short tube to the side. When striking with a plastic hammer from up top, do not insert bearing too much so position will be set easily.
11. Set post and flapper, install solenoid. Align the center of the flapper with the center of the jet clone discharge opening.
12. Set position to close flapper when solenoid is turned on. Once this is done, tighten adjustable bolt.

[Point]
When solenoid is active, there should be a 1.0 ~ 2.0mm clearance between flapper and jet clone mounting plate. This is to make sure too much pressure is not put on solenoid. To adjust to this position leave small clearance between the rubber tip of the solenoid and the post to allow more play. This way, adjustment is effective.
13. Open hole TO insert flapper set pin.
Use 3.0 mm drill to open at center of post at perpendicular angle.

14. Insert flapper set pin.
Use pin punch. If pin is threaded through, apply epoxy adhesive for metallic materials.
After tightening set-screw, apply adhesive once again.
15. Install snap ring.
16. Install solenoid, limit switch and cam, then adjust position.

17. Install cover, and repair is complete.
