Large Capacity, Portable, low speed screenless grinder with
a larger cutter chamber
The SMGL3-PLUS series granulators are our newest, largest grinders of our portable grinder lineup. With up to *88 lbs. per-hour capacity, the SMGL3-PLUS low-speed size-reduction unit grinds to a consistent size. Its screenless design ensures dust and cutting errors are reduced, and no “longs” can slip through. Combining low-speed, energy-saving, easy-cleaning granulating technology with primary and secondary blades, (6 x 7 millimeter) regrind material flows more consistently into your production, moving easily through your material handling systems and molding- with fewer rejects. With larger cutting chambers at 15.75" x 15.6" ("-2/3"model) or 19.7" x 15.6" ("-3/4" model), it can handle bigger sprues / runners and even some parts.
The unit comes in (2) blade and (2) motor configurations; 2 [large cutters] x 3 [small cutters] ("-2/3" model), or 3 [large cutters] x 4 [small cutters] ("-3/4" model).
You also have the choice of a 3HP motor (2.2kW) or 5 HP motor (3.7kW), for each.

Engineered to make it even easier to clean
The SMGL3-PLUS lets you access it with 2 simple clamps for fast, easy cleaning, and product and color changes. The unit opens like a clamshell to completely expose the cutters so you can quickly clean and prepare for the next job without worry of contamination. The operation side is designed to run all from one common "face" of the unit. No more crawling all over the unit to get it functional and clean!

Quiet, safe operation at a glance!
The SMGL3-PLUS incorporates a chambered steel damper feed chute to significantly reduce noise, so it operates quietly and efficiently. Units are also equipped with three limit switches and an emergency shut-off button. An integrated thermostat helps prevent the motor from overheating. With 3-sided viewing windows, you can always see how the process it grinding.
Amazing included, standard.
The SMGL3-PLUS is equipped with amazing standard features: a feed chute magnet, anti-flyback curtain, dustless bearing wipers and a removable takeaway box underneath the cutting chamber which gives easy access for checking and cleaning. The regrind material can easily be put directly back into the molding process in real-time by adding our Jet-Selector valve and a vacuum source. (JL4, MJ3, MJ6-i etc.)
Small footprint and portable
The SMGL3-PLUS has a small footprint, so it easily glides into place, tucking neatly into a convenient, out of the way place, or snugly up against a machine.
Easy-to-clean and virtually maintenance free
Stainless steel components and easy-to-clean design make changing material and color a snap. The SMGL3-PLUS is screen-less, so there is even less maintenance and no screen to wear out nor replace. The smart, simple design means years of reliable, maintenance-free operation.
Just Feed it, and Forget it!
With its quietly rugged motor (3HP / 5HP), all tool-steel cutter design, sound-dampened feed chute, and anti-dust bearing protectors wipers, the SMGL3-PLUS is designed to withstand it all, from spues and runners to small to medium parts. 100% of the cutters can be accessed- even the large cutters by opening the lowest drawer for complete access to all cutters.
