DPD-3 Thermal Conduction Vacuum Dryer
Issues > Check/Troubleshooting
Overheat Alarm is displayed on the Alarm Screen.
  1. The Overheat Thermostat temperature is not set at the appropriate temperature.
  2. The Solid State Relay (SSR) in the control panel is not running normally.

1. The Overheat Thermostat temperature is not set at the appropriate temperature.
If the thermostat is either set at the same temperature as the dryer settings or at a lower temperature, the safety units will run and activate the overheat alarm.
  1. Check the settings of the thermostat.

  2. (Notes) 1) Thermostat with fixed temperature: Built-in on the outer tube of the drying hopper (one on DPD-5, two on DPD-15) and the conical section of the heater (one).
    2) Thermostat with adjustable temperature: Set on the heater of the inner tube section of the drying hopper (center of straight drum section).

    [Point]
If the safety units worked, the heater will need 5 hours of cooling time. Even when restarting while cooling down, the thermostat may start due to the residual heat in the heater. Please use extra caution when setting the temperature.

  3. Set the temperature 20 degrees C above the drying temperature.

2. The Solid State Relay (SSR) in the control panel is not running normally.
If the temperature increases because the heater relay functions improperly, the safety units will activate and start an overheat alarm.
  1. (How to check the SSR)
Turn the power breaker on (power lamp will light up) and turn the operation switch off. If the heater conductor is normal, current should not be running into the heater circuit routes. Use the clamp meter to measure the current on the route. If current is running in the route, the SSR is damaged. Replace the SSR. For repairs and replacements, contact your local Matsui service offices.
  2. Repair or replace any part functioning improperly.
